44 Plays Presidential Art Gallery

Posted in Art, Theatre on July 14, 2012 by Kris

During the run of Theatre Pro Rata‘s production of 44 Plays for 44 Presidents, there was a Presidential Art Gallery on display that featured each of the 44 presidents created by different artists. I created a portrait of Ronald Reagan.

I made a collage of images from the 1980s — everything from the tearing-down of the Berlin Wall to Michael Jackson to E.T. to a Rubik’s Cube. Then, I painted a portrait of President Reagan over the entire collage. I’m pretty happy with the results.

You can see images of all of the artwork in the gallery by clicking here.

My art was also featured in an interview with Carin Bratlie and Grant Henderson from Theatre Pro Rata. Click here to read the interview.

This may be the most patriotic design I’ve ever done. Holy spangles, Batman.

Save The Date

Theatre Pro Rata asked me to design a “Save The Date” postcard for their first annual Spring Gala Fundraiser.

You guys…I hope you realize this means this is the first graphic design I’ve created using American propaganda instead of Russian. I told you I wasn’t a Commie!

Foxygene “Panic Button”

This is the album cover design for Foxygene’s album, “Panic Button.” It’s a remake of the album cover for Jean Michel Jarre’s “Oxygene.”

I had so much fun designing this one.

This was a really fun postcard to design.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Posted in Art on January 26, 2012 by Kris

I painted this for my sister for Christmas 2011. She admires Martin Luther King, Jr. a lot, and had mentioned wanting to commission a painting. I figured, hey, why not just paint it for her for Christmas?

The background consists of pages torn from a book of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speeches. The book also had a few pages of photos, which worked out nicely.

My sister loved it, by the way.
