Foxygene “Panic Button”

Posted in Graphic Design, Music on January 26, 2012 by Kris

This is the album cover design for Foxygene’s album, “Panic Button.” It’s a remake of the album cover for Jean Michel Jarre’s “Oxygene.”

I had so much fun designing this one.

T Bone N Weasel

Posted in Graphic Design, Theatre on January 26, 2012 by Kris

This is the postcard I designed for Theatre Pro Rata‘s production of T Bone N Weasel by Jon Klein. It opens on March 3rd, so if you’re in the Twin Cities area, you should check it out!

This was a really fun postcard to design.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

Posted in Art on January 26, 2012 by Kris

I painted this for my sister for Christmas 2011. She admires Martin Luther King, Jr. a lot, and had mentioned wanting to commission a painting. I figured, hey, why not just paint it for her for Christmas?

The background consists of pages torn from a book of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s speeches. The book also had a few pages of photos, which worked out nicely.

My sister loved it, by the way.

Dorothy Parker

Here’s another commissioned painting — this time, of writer Dorothy Parker.

The background was created by using torn pages from a book of Dorothy Parker poetry, and “aged” by using chalk.

MSRP “Missile Squirrel Vs. Robo Panda”

Posted in Graphic Design, Music on January 26, 2012 by Kris

It’s always fun to design something when the instructions are to “be as ridiculous and obnoxious as possible.” The concept for this album cover was to create adorable animals that had some sort of badass special ability and could face off. The illustrations were my creations, too. I can’t take credit for thinking of “missile squirrel” and “robo panda” (the guys in MSRP thought those up).

If anything, this showcases that I can totally unlearn everything I ever learned about graphic design. Check out that visual vibration! (I am not responsible for seizures caused by this album cover).

I designed this postcard for Theatre Pro Rata‘s production of Cat’s Paw by William Mastrosimone.

Bowl With The Boss

Posted in Charity, Graphic Design on January 26, 2012 by Kris

TCF Bank has a yearly event to raise money for charity, and one of the events is to donate money to play lawn bowling with one of the executives. This flyer was designed to be inserted into the invitation to the event.

Franz Ferdinand Fan Club Issue #7

Posted in Graphic Design, Music on January 26, 2012 by Kris

The seventh issue of the Franz Ferdinand Fan Club magazine has been out for some time (you can view the entire issue here) but this is the cover I designed for it.

I’ve been a bit obsessed with grey lately.

Theatre Pro Rata 2011-2012 Season Bookmark

Posted in Graphic Design, Theatre on January 26, 2012 by Kris

I apologize for not keeping this blog updated! I’ll be catching up, but some of these projects have been done for quite some time.

This is the 2011-2012 season bookmark I designed for Theatre Pro Rata. It features an image from their production of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew.

I should be starting on the 2012-2013 season bookmark within the next couple of months, too.
