Rockin’ Resin

Some of you may not know that I’m really into a variety of crafts as well as art and graphic design. One of those crafts is beading and jewelry-making. On July 21st from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and August 18th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Beadniks at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN, I will be teaching a class called Rockin’ Resin. For $25 (plus the cost of supplies), you can make a really fun steampunk-inspired necklace using antique brass elements, chain, charms and a resin frame you can customize any way you like. Visit the Beadniks website to view the class calendar. You can call 952-854-9951 to reserve your spot in the class. You get 10% off of all supplies the day of the class.

It’s easy and fun to make. The resin pendant is awesome. It uses Magic Glos, which hardens in 15 minutes under a UV lamp. In the version of the necklace I made, I used all sorts of fun beads and charms. I used large faceted Red Tiger Eye, some small faceted Pyrite, Swarovski crystals, enameled metal gears, copper-plated ceramic beads, and a bunch of Vintaj elements. What’s great about it is that you can swap out certain elements for other ones, if you want to alter it to your tastes.

So, if you want to make a fun project and are in the Twin Cities area, sign up! I’d love to have you in my class.
