Updates: May 27, 2010

It’s been a while since I’ve done a proper “update.”

The first update is that the “Foot in the Door 4” exhibit is only going to be open for a couple more weeks. Make sure to get to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts by June 13th!

The second update is that I’m currently working on the artwork for the first album by Say Like The French Say. I’m not going to say much about it right now, but itĀ involves Legos, and the title of the album is “This Is Why We Can’tĀ  Have Nice Things.” It’s been so much fun working on the artwork for this one. It should be done fairly soon, so stay tuned.

The third update is that I will be finished with my A.S. degree in Graphic Design on June 19th. I’m very excited!

Traveling Light

Posted in Graphic Design, Theatre on May 27, 2010 by Kris

I completed the postcard design for Theatre Pro Rata‘s production of Traveling Light. The goal was to create an homage to The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Here’s the postcard…

…and this is the inspiration.

To create the collage of people in the background, friends, actors and other lovely folks from the local theatre scene came dressed up as different characters, and Charlie took photos of them. From there, it was a lot of work “cutting out” the characters and creating a collage from photographic elements. I’m pretty pleased with the end result.
